The Hook on 'Diva e Donna'!

We thank Diva e Donna for the quotation!

"A hook to the symptoms with boxing! Boxing training? They can be helpful in counteracting Parkinson's symptoms.
This is the innovative strategy of the association 'A Hook for Parkinson's', which operates within the Florence Training Lab, the first medical centre where boxing is practised, without physical contact, but through warm-up exercises, hitting the bag, and jumping rope.

*Boxing, besides being one of the oldest sports in the world, is also one of the most complete because it develops coordination, balance, reflexes, and muscle elasticity.
Training these qualities, which are lost with neuro-degenerative diseases, improves the quality of life of patients, even in advanced stages of the disease,' explains Dr Maurizio Bertoni, president of the Association.

*The centre currently follows 25 patients between the ages of 50 and 75. A first scientific study analysing the benefits of this discipline will be published shortly.
But the results are already visible on several parameters: balance, stability, coordination, hand-eye reactivity and improved mood."
