Summary

The Caterpillar International Academy Preschool Floater provides flexible support across all classrooms, assisting teachers, maintaining routines, and engaging with children to ensure a safe, nurturing, and fun learning environment. This role requires adaptability, teamwork, and a readiness to step in wherever needed to keep the school running smoothly.

Duties

• Provide classroom coverage for teachers during breaks, planning periods, and absences.
• Assist lead and assistant teachers with implementing lesson plans and activities that align with the curriculum.
• Support classroom management by maintaining a positive, safe, and respectful learning environment.
• Engage actively with children during play, group activities, and learning centers.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in classrooms and common areas, following hourly sanitation protocols.
• Communicate effectively with staff, children, and parents in a professional and friendly manner.
• Assist with meal times, nap times, and transitions between activities.
• Monitor and supervise children to ensure safety at all times.
• Follow all licensing regulations, school policies, and CACFP guidelines when applicable.

Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent (CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework preferred).
Experience: Prior childcare or preschool experience strongly preferred.
Skills:

• Flexibility to work with different age groups and adapt to various classroom environments.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain a positive attitude.

Physical:

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Stamina to participate in active play and move between classrooms as needed.

Other:

• Must pass background checks and meet all state licensing requirements.
• Commitment to following safety, sanitation, and school policies.
