Job Description
Summary An after-school teacher supervises and nurtures children after regular school hours by creating a safe, engaging environment. Their duties include planning age-appropriate educational and recreational activities, assisting with homework, maintaining a clean classroom, and communicating with parents. This role requires patience, strong communication skills, strong teamwork skills and the ability to manage behavior while fostering a child's overall development, including physical, social, and academic growth. School break camp, as well as summer camp, is a full day care program that is held for school-aged students when county schools are closed. This gives part-time afterschool teachers the opportunity to work full-time if desired. If full-time is not desired, part-time afterschool teachers are still required to work their regular shift when school break camps are being held, unless previously discussed and approved.
